True to its purpose of empowering women to stand strong — and in celebration of International Women’s Day — Stuart Weitzman and Tapestry Foundation recently welcomed the inaugural cohort of its brand-new Bold Movers Program to Hudson Yards for a day of collaboration, learning, and networking. Created in continued partnership with Vital Voices, the Bold Movers Program is a bespoke, seven-week program dedicated to investing in women affecting change in their communities. This year’s cohort is a select group of 10 women leaders from across the U.S. working towards gender equality, specifically those making strides to advance inclusive workplaces and address challenges for working mothers and caregivers.

Programming kicked off with a round of introductions and powerful opening remarks from Kaisy O’Reilly, Chief Marketing Officer at Stuart Weitzman, who set the tone for an exciting day ahead. Participants sat in on a thought-provoking panel discussion titled: Building Your Personal Brand, facilitated by Stuart Weitzman executives, and engaged in a leadership goal-setting activity, led by the Vital Voices program team, empowering them to chart their paths towards success.

After the morning sessions, participants joined the CEO & Brand President of Stuart Weitzman, Giorgio Sarne, for a candid Q&A session where he shared his insights and wisdom with the group. Following this session, the Bold Movers immersed themselves in two-panel discussions. The first explored the importance of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in the Workplace, while the other delved into Leadership and Advocacy for Caregivers and Working Mothers, masterfully moderated by Talia Bilodeau, Chief Development Officer at Vital Voices. These discussions gave distinct insights into supporting working caregivers and, emphasized ing the necessity of creating intentional spaces, like employee resource groups, to encourage community and mutual learning.

Participants ended the day with the Stuart Weitzman Creative team and a cupcake toast to celebrate the program’s success, where Kaisy O’Reilly rejoined the group to share inspiring closing remarks, celebrating the inaugural cohort. Following the in-person program, the Bold Movers will complete the virtual leadership curriculum, equipping them with additional tools and insights, allowing them to be eligible to apply for a grant to advance their endeavors in promoting equity for caregivers, further solidifying their commitment to cultivating positive change in their communities.
